Scope: Sexual harassment complaints (women employees, students, visitors)

Following are the types of grievances managed by this Cell.

A Sexual Harassment (Primary Category)
  • Unwelcome physical contact and advances
  • Demand/request for sexual favors (quid pro quo)
  • Sexually colored remarks
  • Showing pornography or inappropriate content
  • Any other unwelcome verbal, non-verbal, or physical conduct
B Hostile Work/Academic Environment
  • Intimidation, humiliation, or offensive work environment
  • Gender-based discrimination affecting performance or evaluation
  • Repeated inappropriate communication (emails, messages, stalking)
C Abuse of Authority
  • Threats related to grades, promotions, or job security in exchange for favors
  • Misuse of power by faculty/supervisor
D Cyber Harassment
  • Online stalking, harassment via social media, emails, or messaging platforms

Scope: Teaching and Non-Teaching Employees

Following are the types of grievances managed by this Cell.

A Service & Employment Issues
  • Salary delays or discrepancies
  • Promotion, increment, or appraisal disputes
  • Contract renewal issues
B Working Conditions
  • Unfair workload distribution
  • Lack of proper infrastructure/resources
  • Health and safety concerns
C Administrative Issues
  • Transfer/posting grievances
  • Leave approval disputes
  • Role ambiguity or job assignment conflicts
D Harassment (Non-ICC)
  • Workplace bullying or mental harassment
  • Abuse by colleagues or supervisors (non-sexual nature)
E Policy & Governance Issues
  • Lack of transparency in decisions
  • Violation of service rules or HR policies

Scope: Protection and welfare of Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe students/staff

A Discrimination & Harassment
  • Caste-based discrimination in academics, workplace, or hostel
  • Use of derogatory caste-related remarks
  • Social exclusion or segregation
B Academic Disadvantages
  • Bias in evaluation, grading, or viva
  • Denial of academic opportunities (projects, research, internships)
C Administrative Issues
  • Delay/denial of scholarships, fellowships, or financial aid
  • Problems in caste certificate verification
D Atrocities (Serious Offences)
  • Physical or verbal abuse targeting caste identity
  • Threats, humiliation, or coercion
E Hostel & Campus Issues
  • Discrimination in accommodation or facilities

Student Grievance Redressal Cell

Scope: All enrolled students

Following are the types of grievances managed by this Cell.

A Academic Issues
  • Evaluation, revaluation, and result-related complaints
  • Attendance discrepancies
  • Issues in teaching quality or syllabus coverage
B Examination-Related Issues
  • Unfair means allegations
  • Delay in results or mark sheets
  • Errors in grade/CGPA calculation
C Admission & Fee Issues
  • Admission cancellation/refund issues
  • Excess fee charging
  • Scholarship or financial aid delays
D Infrastructure & Facilities
  • Classroom, lab, or library issues
  • Hostel, transport, and mess problems
  • Wi-Fi, electricity, sanitation issues
E Student Services
  • ID card, certificates, migration, etc.
  • ERP/portal-related issues
F Discipline & Conduct
  • Unfair disciplinary actions
  • Ragging-related complaints (may also go to Anti-Ragging Committee)
G Discrimination (General)
  • Bias based on gender, religion, region (non-SC/ST specific cases)

Grievance Redressal Process

The University follows a structured three-level mechanism:

Grievance Processing Timeline

  • Acknowledgement of grievance: Within 2 working days
  • Initial review: Within 7 working days
  • Final resolution: Within 15 to 30 working days
