Jagadguru Kripalu University ("JKU" or "we") is a UGC-recognised State University in Odisha. This Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, apply for admission, or interact with us in any way.

By using our website or submitting any form, you agree to this Policy. You can browse our website without providing any personal information. This Policy applies only to JKU's own digital platforms, it does not cover third-party websites that we may link to.

  • Website visitors: We automatically collect browsing data such as IP address, pages visited, device type, and location using Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (which also uses tracking pixels and session recordings). This helps us improve our website and personalise your experience.
  • Enquiries: When you fill in the Contact Us form, we collect your name, mobile number, email, and message. If you submit a comment or testimonial, it may be published on our website alongside your first name.
  • Applicants: Our admissions portal collects your personal details, academic records, category certificates, photograph, and supporting documents. It also records how you found us (e.g. via Google, social media, or a referral) for our internal marketing analysis.
  • Students: Once enrolled, we maintain your academic records, attendance, fee payments, and campus-related information such as hostel and transport details.
  • Grievances: Our grievance portal collects your details and the nature of your complaint. Sensitive complaints (e.g. sexual harassment) are handled with strict confidentiality.
  • Campus visitors: CCTV cameras operate across campus for safety. Visitor entry records are also maintained.

Providing your information is voluntary for general enquiries. However, certain fields are required to complete an admission application; without them, we cannot process your application.

How We Contact You

By submitting your mobile number or email address to us, whether through the Contact Us form, admissions portal, or any other channel, you consent to us contacting you by call, SMS, email, or WhatsApp about your enquiry or application, even if your number is registered under DND (Do Not Disturb).

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by emailing us at info@jku.edu.in or clicking unsubscribe in any of our emails.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary:

  • Technology partners who run our services (NoPaperForms, Google, Microsoft, Chatbase, payment gateways)
  • Certification bodies (e.g. AWS, AAFM) when you enrol in programmes with professional certifications
  • Regulators and government bodies (UGC, AICTE, AYUSH, State Government of Odisha) as required by law
  • Employers and internship partners, for placement purposes, with your knowledge
  • Law enforcement or courts, if required by law

Some of our technology partners are based outside India. When your data is shared internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • Ask us to correct or delete your information
  • Withdraw consent for optional uses such as marketing at any time
  • Complain to us, or escalate to the Data Protection Board of India
