Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalay (JKC), Banara, is a charitable allopathic hospital that has been serving the medical needs of approximately 10,000 villagers since May 4, 2013. Specialist doctors, including orthopaedists, gynaecologists, paediatricians, ophthalmologists, and internal medicine specialists, treat around 100 patients daily, free of cost.

Some of the salient, services offered at JKC include:

  • a fully equipped diagnostic lab
  • dentist’s office where all services, such as tooth extraction, scaling, filling, crown preparation, root canal, etc. will be available
  • ambulance service for the old, disabled, and local children
  • ob-gyn services
  • maternal and child healthcare including immunizations for infectious diseases
  • promotion of good mental health
  • a vision center
  • a digital x-ray machine
  • a more comfortable waiting lounge for patients
  • community activities to promote basic hygiene and sanitation, family planning, the importance of disease prevention and vaccinations, prevention and treatment of local endemic diseases, etc.

In addition to the above services, an “Ambulatory Clinic” (Clinic on Wheels) has been introduced. It is expected to serve the same catchment area with the same services being offered at the newly remodelled clinic.
