About the Scheme

The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme aims to empower India's youth by providing meaningful internship opportunities across diverse industrial sectors. Under Phase III of the scheme, the Government of India has planned to facilitate approximately 1.10 lakh internship opportunities in more than 200 leading companies across the country.

The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through an online portal and mobile application, ensuring a transparent, accessible, and student-friendly application process.

Internship Duration

Depending on the participating organization, students may undertake internships of:

Students must fulfill the following conditions:

Age Criteria: Between 18 and 25 years as on the date of application.
Nationality: Must be an Indian Citizen.
Employment Status: Must not be engaged in full-time employment.

Higher Secondary Pass students
Undergraduate Degree Holders
ITI Certificate Holders
Final-Year Undergraduate Students
Polytechnic Diploma Holders
Final-Year Postgraduate Students

BA B.Sc. B.Com. BBA BCA B.Tech. B.E. B.Pharm. MA M.Sc. M.Com. MCA M.Tech. or Equivalent Programmes

Ineligibility Criteria

Candidates shall not be eligible if they:

Are currently pursuing full-time education (except final-year students).

Have previously completed internships or apprenticeship programmes under Central or State Government schemes, including NAPS or NATS.

Belong to families with an annual income exceeding ₹12 lakh.

Have family members employed as permanent Government employees, PSU employees, statutory bodies, or local authorities.

Hold professional qualifications such as:

CA CMA CS MBA MBBS MD MS M.Phil. Ph.D.

Are graduates or postgraduates from institutions such as IITs, IIMs, IISc, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs, or National Law Universities.
